KPDCL Power Shutdown Alert: Multiple Districts in Kashmir to Face Temporary Outages Starting March 2
Srinagar, March 01, 2026 — The Chief Engineer of Distribution at the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns affecting several key areas across the Kashmir Division to facilitate essential maintenance and line works.
Residents in the North Kashmir region, specifically those served by the 33 kV Delina-Sopore Tap line and the 33 kV Baramulla-II line, will experience a power suspension from 08 AM to 02 PM on March 3, 2026. This outage will impact Krankshivan Colony, Baba Raza, Amargarh, Wogub, Old Town, Tawheed Gunj, Drangbal, Jalsheeri, Sheeri, Heewan, Zogiyar, and surrounding localities.
In South Kashmir, the 33 kV Wanpoh SICOP line is scheduled for a shutdown on March 2 and March 7, 2026, from 08 AM to 02 PM, affecting electricity supply to Veer, Srigufwara, Zirpara, Shamsipora, and the Bijbehara SICOP industrial areas. Additionally, residents in Shangus, Nowgam, and Cherpora should prepare for outages on March 2, 4, and 7 due to work on the 33 kV Achabal Cherpora Tapline during the same morning-to-afternoon window.
Furthermore, the 33 kV Harnag Khanabal Tapline will undergo maintenance on March 2 and March 5, 2026, leading to a temporary power disruption for the PSS 33/0.433 KV and 1 MVA DC residence between 08 AM and 02 PM.
