KPDCL Distributes Safety Gear to Field Staff at Bemina to Enhance Electrical Safety
SRINAGAR, Jan 3: As part of a dedicated initiative to modernize workplace safety, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) organized a Safety Equipment Distribution Programme today at the IT&C Division in Bemina.
Managing Director Mahmood Ahmad Shah led the event, overseeing the distribution of specialized safety gear—including helmets, insulating gloves, and safety harnesses—to field staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of the region’s power network.
Shah emphasized that strict adherence to safety protocols is non-negotiable, noting that the corporation’s primary objective is to achieve a “zero accident” goal by ensuring all personnel are equipped to handle hazardous electrical installations securely.
The distribution drive is part of a broader commitment by KPDCL to institutionalize a safety-first culture across its workforce. Senior officials, including Chief Engineer (Distribution) Nisar Ahmad Lone and Chief Engineer (Planning & Procurement) Shurjeel Ghani Lalla, were present to support the initiative.
The program concluded with a collective pledge from the department to maintain high safety standards while ensuring a reliable power supply for consumers. By prioritizing the welfare of its “Seema Praharis” of the power grid, KPDCL aims to prevent avoidable electrocution incidents and provide a secure environment for its essential ground-level employees.
