KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Srinagar and Kashmir Regions

SRINAGAR, MARCH 07, 2026 — The Chief Engineer of Distribution at the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued a formal notification regarding scheduled power outages across several districts to facilitate essential maintenance and technical works.

According to the department, the 33 KV Potushai Nadihal Tap line will undergo a shutdown on March 9, 2026, from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM. This will temporarily affect the electricity supply in Ajas, SK Bala, Bazipora, Nadihal, Guroora, Argam, and surrounding locations.

In a separate maintenance drive, the 33 kV Bemina-Fatehkadal and 33 kV Bemina-Barbarshah lines are scheduled for shutdowns on March 10 and March 12, 2026. Residents in KK Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, BB Shah, Babademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basantbagh, Car Parking, and Maisuma Bazar should expect power interruptions between 07:30 AM and 02:00 PM on these dates.Additionally, the 33 KV Soibugh Wadwan line will experience a power cut on March 8, 2026, from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

This shutdown will impact Soibugh, Dharmuna, Wadwan, Rasoo, Gotpora, Chatbugh, Pymus Gariend, Nadigam, Banggam, Wahpora, and adjoining areas. The KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected zones to plan accordingly and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused during these necessary technical upgrades.
