SRINAGAR JANUARY 16, 2026 — The Chief Engineer of Distribution at the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced several scheduled power shutdowns across various districts to facilitate essential maintenance and repairs.
These outages will primarily occur between 10:00 AM and 03:00 PM on specific dates in January 2026. Residents in regions such as Khonmoh, Balhama, and Wuyan will face a shutdown on January 25, while the Tral area—including Devar and Kahlil—is scheduled for outages on January 18 and 22.
Furthermore, the Nihalpora-Gulmarg line will be affected on January 19 and 24, impacting power supply to popular tourist destinations and local villages like Tangmarg, Ferozpora, and Gulmarg.Additional maintenance work will impact the Lassipora-Mitrigam line on January 19, affecting areas like Pakherpora and Kamrazipora, while the Sangam-II line shutdown will disrupt supply to Hariparigam, Chakoora, and Panzgam on January 19 and 22.
Industrial operations will also see brief interruptions; specifically, the Pampore-SIDCO line shutdown on January 18 will affect the Khrew Industrial Estate and local cement plants. Other critical shutdowns include the Pampore-Khrew line on January 24 and 27 and the Pampore-Lethpora line on January 19 and 21, impacting villages such as Samboora, Ladhoo, and Konibal.
