KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdown Across Multiple Districts in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 02, 2026 — The Chief Engineer of Distribution at the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has notified the public regarding a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts to facilitate essential maintenance works. According to the official communication, the 33 kV Tral 1st line will undergo a shutdown on January 04, 2026, from 09 AM to 03 PM, affecting power supply to Tral, Devar, Pinglish, Dadsara, Chandrgam, Mandoora, Kahlil, Bajwani, and Noorpora.

Additionally, the 33 kV Tapline of Tral-1st from Nowdal will be offline on January 07 and 11, 2026, during the same hours, impacting areas including Tral-I, Payeen, Chewa, and Tral Bala.Industrial and residential areas in the Khunmoh and Pampore belts will also face temporary outages.

A shutdown of the 33 kV Balhama/Old TCI Tapline is scheduled for January 04, 2026, from 09 AM to 03 PM, affecting Wuyen, Balhama, and Munpora. Furthermore, maintenance on the 33 kV Pampore-SIDCO and Pampore-Pampore lines was observed on January 01, 2026, which impacted the Industrial Estate (IE) Khrew, various cement plants, Namblabal, Drangbal, and Khadermoh.

Residents and industrial units in these zones are advised to plan accordingly for these scheduled interruptions.In North Kashmir, the KPDCL has planned shutdowns for the 33 kV Handwara Old line and the 33 kV Pattan Amargarh line. Supply to Changimulla, Zachaldara, Wadipora, Adoora, and Haril will be affected on January 04, 2026, from 10 AM to 03 PM.

Similarly, on January 06, 2026, power supply to Zangam, Nehalpora, Pattan, Hamray, Palhalan, and local hospitals will be suspended from 10 AM to 03 PM. KPDCL emphasizes that these shutdowns are necessary for the up-gradation and maintenance of the power grid to ensure long-term stability and reliability of the electricity supply across the valley.
