KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown in Srinagar and Budgam Districts; Check Affected Areas and Timings
SRINAGAR, April 7, 2026 — The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued a scheduled power shutdown notice for several areas across the valley to facilitate essential maintenance and technical works.
Residents in parts of Budgam and Srinagar are advised to plan accordingly as supply will be suspended on specific dates starting April 8.
The first phase of the shutdown involves the 33 kV Soibugh-Wadwan line, which will affect power supply to Soibugh, Dharmuna, Wadwan, Rasoo, Gotpora, Chatbugh, Pymus, Gariend, Nadigam, Banggam, and Wahpora.
This outage is scheduled for April 8, 2026, from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Additionally, on the same day, the 33 kV Beerwah Arizal Tapline will undergo maintenance, resulting in a power suspension for Arizal, Zanigam, Reyar, Doodhpathri, and surrounding localities from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.
Furthermore, significant power interruptions are expected in the heart of Srinagar city due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Bemina-Fateh Kadal and 33 kV Bemina-Barbarshah lines. This will impact essential services and residential areas including K.K. Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohri Kadal, Barbarshah, Babademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Nai Sarak, Exchange, Basantbagh, Maisuma Bazar, and adjoining sectors.
These outages are slated to take place from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on April 11 and April 13, 2026. KPDCL officials have urged consumers to cooperate during this period to ensure the long-term reliability of the power distribution network.
