KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown in Srinagar and Adjoining Districts: Check Affected Areas and Schedules

SRINAGAR | March 25, 2026The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various districts to facilitate essential maintenance and repair works.

According to the official communiqué, the 33 kV Nowbugh-Chadoora Line will undergo a shutdown on March 28, 2026, which will disrupt the electricity supply to Sogam, Ranger, Ropora, Dawlatpora, Panzan, Lalgam, Chadoora, Wathoora, Bugam, Gadsathoo, Kathairgund, and neighboring localities from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Residents in these areas are advised to plan accordingly for the six-hour power outage.Further maintenance is scheduled for the 33 kV Kremshore Line on March 30, 2026. This technical intervention will result in a temporary suspension of power supply to Kremshore, Arigam, Nuner, Shamsabad, Dreygam, Branwar, Sursyar, Raithan, Khansahib, Shinipora, Yarikhah, and surrounding hamlets between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The KPDCL emphasized that these shutdowns are necessary to ensure the long-term reliability and stability of the regional power grid.Additionally, a significant shutdown of the 33 KV Kanipora-Pinjoora line has been planned for multiple dates to address infrastructure requirements.

Consequently, power supply to Town Arhama, Pinjoora, Killora, Imamsahib, Vehil, Nowgam, Reshinagri, Pahnoo, Zawoora, Shirmal, and adjoining areas will be affected from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 28, March 31, and April 6, 2026.

The department has requested the cooperation of the general public during these periods as they work to modernize the distribution network across the valley.
