Kishtwar Road Safety Campaign: MVD and Traffic Police Reward Law-Abiding Drivers with Chocolates and Flowers
KISHTWAR, January 9, 2026 — In a unique and positive approach to traffic enforcement, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), Traffic Police, and GREF joined forces today to launch a road safety awareness drive along the Kishtwar–Paddar road.
As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month 2026, officials led by ARTO Tasleem Wani engaged with commuters not with fines, but with gestures of appreciation.
Drivers found strictly adhering to traffic regulations were greeted with chocolates and flowers, a move designed to reinforce and celebrate safe driving habits within the community.During the initiative, teams pasted road safety stickers on dozens of vehicles and distributed over 200 educational pamphlets.
These materials feature high-impact messages reminding motorists of the life-saving importance of speed limits, seatbelts, and pedestrian safety. Furthermore, the campaign focused on the “Good Samaritan” (Rah-Veer) guidelines, encouraging citizens to assist road accident victims without fear of legal repercussions.
ARTO Tasleem Wani emphasized that by turning vehicles into “moving billboards” for safety, the department aims to create a culture of constant awareness and mutual respect on the roads of Kishtwar.
