Kishtwar Police Solve Major Theft Case in 24 Hours; Stolen Property Worth ₹4 Lakh Recovered

KISHTWAR, JANUARY 04, 2026: In a major breakthrough against property crime, the District Police Kishtwar successfully solved a high-value theft case within 24 hours, leading to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of stolen machinery worth approximately ₹4 lakhs.

The operation was initiated following the registration of FIR No. 01/2026 under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Chatroo, concerning the theft of a JCB rock breaker from a site near the Chatroo Army Camp.

Under the leadership of SSP Kishtwar Naresh Singh, a specialized investigation team was mobilized to track down the offenders and retrieve the expensive equipment.

The investigative process involved a combination of advanced technical surveillance, local intelligence gathering, and persistent fieldwork by a team led by SHO Chatroo Inspector Vikram Singh, under the supervision of DySP PC Dachhan.

These efforts resulted in the identification and apprehension of two individuals, Muzaffar Hussain of Padyarna and Muneer Hussain of Dool Kuchalna. During sustained interrogation, both suspects confessed to the crime, leading police directly to the location where the stolen JCB rock breaker was hidden.

By recovering the ₹4,00,000 piece of machinery within a single day of the report, the Kishtwar Police have demonstrated their commitment to swift justice and effective crime prevention.

The district authorities have praised the efforts of the Chatroo police team and urged the general public to continue cooperating with law enforcement.
