Kishtwar Encounter: Fierce Gunbattle Erupts Between Security Forces and Terrorists in Singhpora
KISHTWAR, JAN 18: A high-stakes encounter broke out between a joint team of security forces and hidden terrorists in the Singhpora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district today.
The confrontation began during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary forces following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of armed insurgents in the rugged forest terrain.
As the security cordoned off the suspected hideout, the trapped terrorists opened fire, leading to an intense exchange of gunshots that has echoed through the mountainous belt.
The entire Singhpora area has been sealed off with additional reinforcements rushed to the spot to prevent any escape attempts under the cover of the dense foliage.
While the gunfight is currently ongoing, senior officials are monitoring the situation closely from the ground. Authorities have maintained a tight security perimeter around the site of the encounter.
As the operation continues into the afternoon, further details regarding the number of terrorists involved or any casualties are still awaited.
