Kishtwar Achieves 100% Revenue Record Digitization; DC Launches Online Grievance Portal

KISHTWAR, April 1, 2026 — In a major boost to administrative transparency and digital governance, District Development Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma today announced the successful completion of revenue record digitization across all 156 villages of Kishtwar.

Speaking at a press conference, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) officially launched a dedicated online grievance redressal portal, designed to provide citizens with seamless access to land records and a formal mechanism to resolve disputes.

This initiative aligns with the Union Territory’s broader shift toward digital services since 2019, ensuring that essential revenue documents, certificates, and licenses are accessible to every section of society from the comfort of their homes.

To ensure the highest level of accuracy, the district administration adopted a community-centric verification process. Digitized records, including the Jamabandi for every village, were taken directly to the public and read aloud to verify details.

Minor clerical errors, such as spelling mistakes or parentage inaccuracies, were resolved at the Tehsil level, while complex quasi-judicial cases were funneled through formal legal channels.

Additionally, the administration has cleared a significant backlog of land mutations—including inheritance and sale-purchase cases pending since 2014—to ensure the digital database reflects the most current and legal land ownership status. The digitized records are now live and accessible via the jkzameensudar.jk.gov.in portal, where residents can verify their holdings and lodge complaints.

DC Sharma emphasized that the system is built for accountability, allowing grievance redressal to be monitored across multiple administrative tiers. To bridge the digital divide, especially in rural areas, the administration will engage educated youth and volunteers to assist citizens in navigating the portal.

Public offices will also provide computer access to ensure no resident is left behind. Accompanied by ADC Pawan Kotwal, ACR Idrees Lone, and other senior officials, the DC urged the public and the media to actively utilize and promote this transparent system, which serves as the backbone for accessing loans and various government welfare schemes.
