Kashmir’s Digital Ambassadors: CM Omar Abdullah Awards Winners of Chrysanthemum Garden Creative Contest

SRINAGAR, February 25, 2026 — Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today honored the creative talents of Jammu and Kashmir at a special felicitation ceremony for the winners of the Photography and Reel Competition.

Organized by the Department of Floriculture, Gardens, and Parks, the contest was a key highlight of the inaugural celebrations for Srinagar’s stunning Chrysanthemum Garden.

The Chief Minister presented Certificates of Merit and cash prizes—including ₹20,000 for first place, ₹10,000 for second, and ₹5,000 for third in both categories—to participants who excelled in digital storytelling. While addressing the winners, the Chief Minister emphasized that Kashmir’s world-renowned gardens are more than just floral landscapes; they are living symbols of the region’s cultural pride and heritage.

The competition saw a massive turnout of both amateur and professional creators, reflecting the growing trend of nature-based digital content. Chief Minister Abdullah praised the participants for acting as global ambassadors of Kashmir’s beauty, noting that such initiatives encourage youth participation and foster a deeper sense of eco-consciousness.

He remarked that by capturing the spirit of the majestic garden through modern lenses, the youth are helping to bridge the gap between traditional heritage and contemporary innovation.

The ceremony, attended by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani and senior Floriculture officials, underscored the government’s commitment to providing platforms that celebrate local talent and the unparalleled natural aesthetics of the Valley.
