Kashmir Weather Forecast: J&K Met Department Predicts Light Snow and Temperature Fluctuations Through Mid-March
SRINAGAR, March 03, 2026 — The Meteorological Centre (MET) Srinagar has released a comprehensive weather outlook for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a mix of cloudy skies and intermittent precipitation over the next two weeks.
From March 3 to March 6, the region is expected to remain partly cloudy, with a brief spell of light snow likely over isolated higher reaches on March 4. This pattern will transition to generally cloudy conditions between March 7 and March 9, bringing light rain or snow to isolated and scattered locations.
A similar trend of scattered light rain and snow is projected for March 10 and 11, followed by a brief period of dry weather from March 12 to 14, before cloud cover returns on March 15 and 16.In its latest advisory, the MET department noted that day temperatures are likely to rise by 1 Degree Celsius to 2 Degree Celsius across most places during the next four days.
However, a subsequent cooling trend is anticipated, with temperatures expected to fall by 2 Degree Celsius 4 Degree Celsius at many locations following this initial warm spell. Despite the predicted fluctuations and light precipitation, authorities have advised farmers in the region to continue their routine farm operations.
