Kashmir Security Update: Restrictions to Continue Thursday as a precautionary measure

SRINAGAR, March 4, 2026 — Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have announced that stringent security restrictions will remain in place across all districts of the Valley on Thursday as a precautionary measure following widespread protests over the death of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei.

Senior officials within the security grid confirmed that the decision aims to maintain law and order and prevent potential unrest, despite the overall situation remaining largely peaceful over the last 24 hours.

As part of the heightened security protocol, mobile internet services will continue to be throttled to 2G speeds, and outgoing call services on all prepaid mobile connections will remain suspended until further notice.

Security agencies are currently conducting continuous ground assessments and have stated that any future easing of these digital and physical curbs will depend entirely on the evolving stability of the region.
