GANDERBAL, January 13,2026 — In a proactive move to fortify the safety of visitors and maintain regional stability, a high-level Joint Security Review Meeting was convened today at the District Police Office in Ganderbal.
Focused on the tourist destinations within the Central Kashmir Range (CKR), the session was co-chaired by DIG CKR, Rajiv Omprakash Pande-IPS, and Army Commander of the 3-Sector, Hemant Singh Panwar.
The assembly brought together top leadership from the Srinagar and Ganderbal police, the CRPF, intelligence agencies, and specialized units like SP Cargo to address the evolving security landscape.The primary agenda focused on the safety and security of tourists, particularly given the challenges posed by recent inclement weather.
Officials engaged in detailed discussions regarding confidence-building measures designed to ensure a seamless and secure experience for travelers. Beyond tourism, the meeting served as a critical briefing for the upcoming Republic Day 2026 celebrations.
Directions were issued to tighten the security grid, improve real-time inter-agency coordination, and optimize force deployment across vulnerable points to preempt any potential disruptions.
