Kashmir School Holiday Update: Government Orders Two-Day Closure for All Schools Starting March 2
SRINAGAR, March 01, 2026 — In a significant administrative decision aimed at ensuring student welfare, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has officially ordered the closure of all educational institutions across the Kashmir Division for two days.
According to an official order issued on March 1, 2026, all government and private recognized schools will remain closed on March 2 and March 3, 2026. The directive, issued in the interest of administration and the safety of students, applies universally to all primary and higher secondary institutions within the division.
The order was released with the approval of the competent authority and has been circulated to all Deputy Commissioners, the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, and Chief Education Officers for strict implementation.
Parents and students are advised to stay in touch with their respective school administrations for further updates regarding the resumption of classes following the 48-hour break.
