Kashmir Agriculture Director Reviews Lalmandi Schemes and Preparations for Upcoming Season

SRINAGAR, March 03, 2026 — Director Agriculture Kashmir (DAK), Sartaj Ahmad Shah, conducted a comprehensive inspection of several flagship agricultural schemes at the Lalmandi complex in Srinagar today to assess readiness for the forthcoming farming season.

During the visit, the Director evaluated progress under the Floriculture Development Scheme, the Kitchen Garden Scheme, and the Integrated Mushroom Development Centre (IMDC). While reviewing floriculture operations, he emphasized the need to enhance production and market linkages to boost farmer income, while also examining seedling distribution mechanisms at the Kitchen Garden facility to promote regional nutritional security.

Additionally, at the IMDC, he directed officials to ensure the timely availability of high-quality inputs and technical support for mushroom growers. Interacting with field staff, Director Shah reviewed the availability of essential inputs like seeds and fertilizers and stressed the importance of aligning departmental activities with the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) to maximize productivity and minimize post-harvest losses across the Kashmir division.
