KATHUA, April 04, 2026: In a significant move to empower the youth with constitutional knowledge, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, officially inaugurated a Legal Literacy Club at Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua, today.
Serving as the Executive Chairman of the J&K Legal Services Authority, Justice Kumar emphasized that fostering a culture of justice and equality must begin at the grassroots level.
During his keynote address, he underscored the vital importance of students understanding their fundamental duties alongside their rights, urging the younger generation to act as responsible citizens and diligent ambassadors of legal awareness within society.
The inaugural event featured a diverse range of participants, including Member Secretary Shazia Tabassum, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, and Principal District & Sessions Judge Jatinder Singh Jamwal, who highlighted the district administration’s commitment to providing both theoretical and practical legal insights to students.
The program was brought to life through creative student performances, including a high-impact Nukkad Natak (street play) titled “Kanoon Par Hai Sabka Adhikaar,” which illustrated the role of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in ensuring universal access to justice.
