Justice Rajnish Oswal Boosts Kathua Judicial Infrastructure with New Facilities
KATHUA, APRIL 13: Justice Rajnish Oswal, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Administrative Judge for Kathua, officially inaugurated several new amenities at the District Court Complex Kathua today, including 36 advocate chambers, a dedicated hall, and a canteen.
During his inaugural address, Justice Oswal emphasized that these facilities are vital for supporting the legal fraternity and streamlining the justice delivery system for the public. He commended Principal District & Sessions Judge Jatinder Singh Jamwal and the Bar Association for their collaborative efforts in the smooth allocation of these new spaces.
Addressing specific concerns raised by the legal community, Justice Oswal confirmed that a fire audit for court complexes is already underway and assured the Bar that the request for lift installations would be carefully evaluated.
Regarding the persistent mobile connectivity issues caused by security protocols near the District Jail, he suggested exploring local Wi-Fi solutions to ensure communication remains uninterrupted without compromising security.
Furthermore, he shared the positive update that the new court complex at Basohli is nearing completion and is expected to be commissioned in the near future.Principal District & Sessions Judge Jatinder Singh Jamwal described the current era as a “golden phase” for Kathua’s judicial infrastructure, noting the recent completion of buildings in Kathua and Hiranagar, with more projects planned for Basohli and Billawar.
The President of the District Bar Association, Advocate Y.C. Katoch, along with Advocate Nidhi Suman, expressed deep gratitude to Justice Oswal and former Administrative Judge Justice Sanjeev Kumar for prioritizing these welfare measures.
The event, which concluded with a vote of thanks from Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajay Kumar, was attended by senior officials including Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, SSP Mohita Sharma, and various members of the judiciary and the Bar.
