Justice for Families of Those Felled by Terrorists: LG Sinha Distributes Appointment Letters in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, March 15, 2026 — In a significant step toward healing the wounds inflicted by decades of violence, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over appointment letters to 27 next of kin of victims killed by terrorists in the Kashmir Division.

During the event held at Lok Bhavan, an additional 22 appointment letters were provided to families of deceased government employees under the J&K Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme. Emphasizing a “zero tolerance” approach toward those who support or execute acts of terror, Sinha vowed to reopen pending cases to ensure that terrorists and their handlers are held strictly accountable.

He remarked that the administration has successfully dispelled the shadow of injustice, providing employment to nearly 400 families of terror victims to date.

Sinha further directed a comprehensive review of property encroachment cases, pledging that any land or homes forcibly seized by terrorists or their associates would be liberated and returned to the rightful owners.

The Lieutenant Governor framed the initiative not merely as an administrative task, but as a profound commitment to social justice and dignity.

He noted that the campaign, which began in Baramulla last year, has restored “the tomorrow” of vulnerable families who had been neglected for decades. Beyond employment, the administration is drafting a robust framework to rehabilitate those left with severe disabilities or loss of sight due to attacks by terrorists.

Calling for unity, Sinha urged the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to remain vigilant and foil the designs of separatist elements seeking to divide the nation along sectarian lines.

He reaffirmed that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the region is moving toward a future defined by self-confidence and equal opportunity, rather than the pains of its past.
