JAMMU, January 9, 2026 — The Chief Engineer (Distribution) of JPDCL Jammu has notified residents of a scheduled power outage on January 11 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM affecting several major hubs. Key areas including Akhnoor, Gangyal, Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Nanak Nagar, and the Railhead Complex will experience disruptions.
The shutdown will also impact the Jammu University campus, City area, DC Office, Boria PHE, Sunjwan, Narwal, Bathindi, Channi Himmat, and Transport Nagar, as well as all locations fed by Grid Stations at Sidhra, Janipur, Jhajjarkotli, BB-I, and BB-II.
Additionally, residents in Premnagar, Thathri, Gundoh, and adjoining areas in the Doda region should prepare for outages on both January 10 and 11 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.In the Kathua O&M Circle, the Superintending Engineer has announced further localized shutdowns to facilitate essential maintenance.
On January 11, power supply to Kaluchak, Birpur Complex Old, and BB Town will be affected from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the Birpur and Ansal areas will see a longer disruption from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
For residents in Sanura, a shutdown is scheduled for January 10 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Furthermore, the Mawa, BSF, and Rehian sectors will face power cuts on January 10 and 12 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Consumers are advised to plan their activities accordingly to minimize inconvenience during these technical maintenance windows.
