Joint Counter-Terrorist Mock Exercise Conducted at IGI Airport to Bolster Delhi Aviation Security
NEW DELHI, March 29,2026 :- In a proactive move to fortify aviation security, a high-intensity Joint Counter-Terrorist Mock Exercise was successfully executed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
The drill was specifically designed to evaluate the operational preparedness of security forces and to refine the seamless inter-agency coordination required to neutralize evolving global security threats within a high-pressure environment.
The exercise featured a massive mobilization of specialized units, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Quick Reaction Teams (QRT), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), and K9 units.
They were joined by the National Security Guard (NSG), Delhi Police, and regulatory bodies such as the BCAS and DGCA. To ensure a comprehensive emergency response, the Delhi Fire Service, Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF), and emergency medical services also played critical roles, demonstrating a high level of synergy and tactical readiness.
By simulating real-world crisis scenarios, the participating agencies were able to test communication protocols and tactical execution under stress. The CISF reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining a “zero-error” security threshold at one of the world’s busiest airports.
Through constant vigilance and such coordinated training maneuvers, the security apparatus ensures that Delhi’s aviation operations remain resilient against any potential interference.
