JMC Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav Leads Massive Sanitation and Anti-Encroachment Drive in Jammu

Jammu, February 18, 2026 — In a resolute step toward urban renewal, the Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Devansh Yadav, spearheaded an intensive inspection and enforcement drive across Ward Nos. 49 and 74.

The high-level tour covered key residential and commercial hubs including Narwal, Bathindi, Sunjwan, and Chowadi. During the visit, Dr. Yadav conducted a comprehensive review of local sanitation standards, the upkeep of civic amenities, and the progress of ongoing developmental projects, emphasizing that maintaining a clean city is a continuous civic mandate rather than a periodic campaign.

Prioritizing public health and disaster preparedness, the Commissioner issued strict directives for the regular lifting of garbage and the mandatory segregation of waste at the source. With the rainy season in mind, he specifically ordered the immediate desilting and deep cleaning of nallahs and drains to prevent waterlogging.

To ensure these standards are met, Dr. Yadav called for enhanced ward-level monitoring and seamless inter-departmental coordination among his team, which included senior officials like Joint Commissioner (Health & Sanitation) Abdul Sattar and Health Officer Dr. Vinod Sharma.

The drive also took a tough stance on illegal land usage, resulting in the immediate dismantling of encroachments on government land in Sunjwan. Enforcement teams cleared unauthorized roadside stalls and removed obstacles from footpaths to restore smooth pedestrian and vehicular movement.

Warning repeat violators of firm legal action, Dr. Yadav appealed to the citizens of Jammu to adopt responsible waste disposal habits. He reiterated the JMC’s unwavering commitment to transforming Jammu into a highly organized, hygienic, and citizen-friendly destination.
