JKNC Udhampur Unit Commemorates 120th Birth Anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah
Udhampur, 5 December :- The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Udhampur Unit today organised a special commemorative programme on the occasion of the 120th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, the tallest leader and architect of modern Jammu & Kashmir.
The event was chaired by District President Udhampur, Sunil Verma, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from party cadres, youth volunteers and local citizens.Addressing the gathering, District President Sunil Verma paid rich tributes to Sheikh Abdullah, recalling his unparalleled contributions towards democracy, social justice, land reforms, and the empowerment of the common people.
He emphasised that Sher-e-Kashmir’s visionary leadership continues to inspire generations and remains the guiding light for the National Conference.
During the programme, party’s Additional Spokesperson Akash Verma highlighted Sheikh Abdullah’s historic role in shaping the identity and socio-economic fabric of Jammu & Kashmir. The cadre collectively resolved to uphold his principles of communal harmony, democratic dignity, and inclusive development.
Senior NC Leader Lal Chand Musafir also threw light on the contributions of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah in different spheres including health, education, social justice, social equality & historic land reforms.As part of the commemoration, the Youth National Conference (YNC) under the leadership of RàhÎll Assllam District President YNC organised a blood donation drive at GMC Udhampur, honouring Sheikh Abdullah’s message of service, compassion, and human welfare.
A large number of young volunteers actively donated blood, symbolising their commitment to carrying forward his legacy of selfless public service.Other important functionaries including Gurmeet Singh Josh Senior Vice President, Ch. Abdul Rashid District Secretary, President SC Cell Retd. Principal Amarnath, Om Parkash Block President City, Om Parkash Bhagat Block President Udhampur, Mir Qasim District Vice President, Ghulam Hassn Kanth Senior NC Leader, Kishore Sadhotra Senior NC Leader, Tirth Singh Senior NC Leader, Surinder Singh President Minority Cell, Rahil Aslam President YNC Udhampur, Akash Kharka President YNC Rural, Ashwani Prabhakar Incharge IT Cell, Shankar Singh Sarpanch, Suram Chand Sarpanch, Ramesh Kumar Zonal VP, Zorawar Singh, Sunil Dutt YNC Leader, Dr. Ramesh Verma, Ravi Kumar, Pritam Kumar Block President YNC Tikri, Rajkumari Leader Women Wing, Radhey Rani, Amit Malhotra were also present.
The event concluded with a pledge by all participants to walk on the path shown by Sher-e-Kashmir and strengthen the National Conference’s mission of safeguarding the rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
