Srinagar January 06,2026 :- The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a shift in conditions over the next 48 hours.
On January 6, the region is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, with a strong possibility of light snow over isolated higher reaches across North, Central, and South Kashmir.
While the higher elevations may see some white, the weather is forecast to remain largely stable and partly cloudy from January 7 through January 18, before turning generally cloudy again around January 19 and 20.
Cold Wave and Fog Advisory :- Authorities have issued a weather advisory highlighting a significant fall in minimum temperatures across the Union Territory, which is expected to persist until January 10. Following this cold snap, temperatures are likely to see a marginal rise of one to Two Degree Celsius.
In the Jammu Division, commuters and residents should remain cautious as moderate fog is expected to blanket the plains. Some isolated areas may experience dense fog over the next two days, potentially impacting visibility and travel.
