J&K Weather Update: Dry Spell to Continue with Gradual Rise in Temperatures

SRINAGAR | February 20, 2026 :-Residents and travelers in Jammu and Kashmir can expect largely stable weather conditions as the region enters the final stretch of February. According to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Centre Srinagar, no major rain or snow events are anticipated across the Union Territory through the end of the month. From February 20th to the 25th, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, followed by a transition to partly or generally cloudy skies on the 26th. A weak western disturbance may bring light rain or isolated snow to higher reaches between February 27th and 28th, though significant accumulation is not expected.

As we move into the first week of March, the weather outlook remains relatively mild. Between March 1st and 3rd, scattered light rain or snow is possible, primarily in the higher reaches, while the period from March 4th to 7th will likely see partly cloudy conditions. In light of this dry spell, both maximum and minimum temperatures are projected to rise steadily over the next seven days.

ADVISORY: In response to the stable conditions, the Meteorological Department has advised farmers to proceed with their routine farm operations. Commuters and locals should also prepare for warmer afternoons as the seasonal temperature climb continues.
