J&K Weather Forecast: Dry Spell Expected Before Rain and Hailstorm Mid-Week
SRINAGAR | APRIL 12, 2026 :-The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a comprehensive weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a mix of dry conditions and intermittent weather activity over the coming week.
For April 12, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, though isolated areas may witness brief spells of light rain during the afternoon hours. This trend of dry weather is set to continue through April 13 to April 15, providing a temporary window of stable conditions across the region.
However, a shift in weather patterns is anticipated on April 16 and 17, as the skies are forecast to turn generally cloudy. During this 48-hour window, scattered to many places may experience light rain, thundershowers, and hailstorms, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph, particularly during the late afternoon and evening.
Following this brief disturbance, the weather is expected to settle again, with generally dry conditions predicted from April 18 through April 22.In light of this forecast, the MET Centre has issued an advisory for the agricultural community.
Farmers across Jammu and Kashmir are advised to continue their essential farm operations, taking advantage of the prevailing dry days while remaining mindful of the predicted mid-week thundershowers and gusty winds.
