J&K Sports Revolution: Minister Satish Sharma Vows Infrastructure Push at Devika Champions League Finale
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 18: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, IT, Transport, and Youth Services & Sports, Satish Sharma, presided over the high-octane final match of the Devika Champions League in Udhampur today, marking a significant milestone for grassroots athletics in the region.
Addressing a massive gathering of sports enthusiasts and local residents, the Minister reaffirmed the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and sustainable sports culture.
Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the administration is aggressively implementing a comprehensive development strategy aimed at providing professional coaching, high-quality infrastructure, and competitive platforms to ensure that young athletes from even the most remote and border areas can reach their full potential.
The Minister highlighted that organized district-level tournaments like the Devika Champions League are essential for talent identification and building a disciplined, healthy youth population. He further detailed the government’s priority to upgrade stadiums and construct modern indoor sports complexes and community facilities to eliminate geographical barriers for budding talent.
