J&K Police Secures Top National Ranking on CCTNS Pragati Dashboard for Tech-Driven Policing
JAMMU, APRIL 01, 2026: In a major milestone for digital governance, Jammu & Kashmir has emerged as a national leader in technology-driven law enforcement, securing the 1st Rank among Union Territories (excluding Delhi) on the NCRB’s CCTNS Pragati Dashboard.
According to the latest performance report as of March 1st, 2026, J&K’s climb to the top reflects the sustained efforts of the Crime Branch’s CCTNS team. While Delhi claimed the overall top spot across both States and UTs, Jammu & Kashmir’s strong performance highlights a significant leap in integrating modern technology with traditional policing to enhance public safety and administrative efficiency.
The ranking is based on a rigorous monthly assessment by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, which evaluates regions on data quality, accuracy, and timeliness across national platforms integrated with the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS).
Jammu & Kashmir excelled across all critical parameters, including the universal connectivity of Police Stations, the comprehensive deployment of Core Application Software (CAS), and the seamless, real-time syncing of data with the National Data Centre (NDC).
Furthermore, the UT has successfully maintained 24/7 availability of essential public services through the dedicated JK Citizen Portal, ensuring that technology serves the needs of the common man.
This high ranking is expected to yield tangible benefits for the citizens of Jammu & Kashmir, including accelerated case registration, more accurate criminal records, and streamlined processes for verifications and grievance redressal.
By fostering quicker coordination between the various pillars of the criminal justice system, the J&K Police is leveraging data-driven processes to bolster transparency and accountability.
This achievement reaffirms the department’s commitment to delivering responsive, efficient, and citizen-centric policing, ultimately strengthening public trust across the entire Union Territory.
