J&K Minister Javed Ahmed Rana Reviews Jal Shakti CAPEX Projects for 2025-26

JAMMU, February 02, 2026: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, chaired a high-level meeting today to evaluate the progress of UT CAPEX works within the Jal Shakti Department. The review focused primarily on the execution status of Water Supply Schemes (WSS) and Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) projects targeted for the 2025–26 fiscal year.

Analyzing both physical and financial progress across the Jammu division, the Minister addressed existing bottlenecks and issued strict directives for the expedited completion of all ongoing infrastructure works to ensure they meet their established timelines.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to transparency and quality, the Minister highlighted that the successful completion of these projects is fundamental to enhancing service delivery and ensuring long-term drinking water security and robust irrigation systems throughout the sub-regions.

The meeting, which included Additional Chief Secretary Shaleen Kabra and other senior department heads, concluded with a call for regular monitoring to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Minister Rana reaffirmed that strengthening water and irrigation infrastructure remains a top priority for improving the lives of citizens and supporting the region’s agricultural stability.
