J&K Lok Bhavan Celebrates Statehood Day of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya
JAMMU | January 21, 2026:- In a vibrant tribute to the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” the Jammu Kashmir Lok Bhavan today hosted a grand celebration to mark the Statehood Day of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya.
The cultural evening served as a bridge between regions, bringing together students, security personnel, and residents from these three Northeastern states currently living in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The event highlighted the unique cultural identities of the “Seven Sisters,” showcasing how traditional heritage and modern progress can coexist to strengthen the nation’s social fabric.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, while addressing the gathering, extended his warmest greetings to the people of the three states and paid homage to the iconic personalities who have made monumental contributions to nation-building. He emphasized that the cultural diversity and rich heritage of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya act as powerful engines for regional growth, fostering innovation, economic vitality, and social resilience.
He remarked that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the region has witnessed historic development, which has not only ensured peace and stability but has also significantly boosted the tourism and hospitality sectors by celebrating their unique identities.
The Lieutenant Governor further noted that the local economies of these states are currently flourishing due to a focus on heritage preservation and massive infrastructure improvements. Enhanced connectivity and the establishment of new premier educational institutions are instilling a sense of pride among the youth, motivating them to innovate while honoring their ancestral roots.
By reviving traditional arts and crafts, these states are setting a benchmark for sustainable growth. The event concluded with a collective hope that Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya will continue to reach new heights of progress and prosperity in the coming years.
