Jammu, February 10, 2026: In a move aimed at streamlining administrative efficiency, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs has ordered the immediate transfer and posting of several high-ranking officers.
According to Government Order No. 1796-JK(LD) of 2026, issued by Commissioner Secretary Achal Sethi, the reshuffle impacts legal representation across vital sectors including Jal Shakti, Tourism, and Health Services.Under the new directives, Dharampal Chhibber, previously the Additional Secretary in the Office of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, Jammu, has been moved to the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Jammu.
In a strategic shift for the tourism sector, Romana, a Senior Law Officer formerly with the Public Works (R&B) Department, will now serve the Tourism Department on a full-time basis, relinquishing her previous additional responsibilities.
The health sector also sees significant changes as Shakeel Ahmed, Assistant Legal Remembrancer, is transferred from the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu. Notably, he will continue to oversee litigation work for both GMC Jammu and the Government Dental College until further notice.
Concurrently, Mohd. Irfan Khan has been moved from the Directorate of Industries and Commerce to the Office of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, Jammu, while maintaining his additional charge of litigation work for the Financial Commissioner, Revenue. All officers are deemed relieved from their previous posts effective immediately.
