J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Counter-Terror Operations and Security in Awantipora
AWANTIPORA, March 07: The Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat-IPS, chaired a high-level security review meeting today at the District Police Office Awantipora to evaluate the current security landscape, law and order situation, and the progress of counter-terror (CT) operations.
Accompanied by top officials, including Special DG Coordination S.J.M. Gillani-IPS, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi-IPS, and DIG SKR Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, the DGP conducted an in-depth assessment of both kinetic and non-kinetic counter-terror strategies within the police district.
The session, attended by the SSP Awantipora and other senior field officers, focused heavily on neutralizing anti-national elements and maintaining regional stability through intelligence-led actions.
During the briefing, DGP Nalin Prabhat emphasized a zero-tolerance approach toward organized crime, specifically directing officers to intensify the ongoing crackdown on drug abuse and other unlawful activities. He urged the police force to remain proactive, disciplined, and mission-oriented while strengthening coordination between different wings of the department to ensure public safety.
While appreciating the dedication of the officers and jawans on the ground, the DGP stressed that effective policing and vigilance are paramount to curbing criminal networks and sustaining peace across the Awantipora Police District.
