J&K CM Omar Abdullah Mourns Loss of 10 Soldiers in Doda Road Tragedy

SRINAGAR, January 22, 2026 — Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic road accident at Khannitop on the Bhaderwah–Chamba road, which resulted in the martyrdom of 10 Indian Army soldiers.

In a statement released via the Chief Minister’s Office on X (formerly Twitter), Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the brave personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Chief Minister also extended his prayers for the speedy and full recovery of the 11 soldiers injured in the accident, which occurred when their vehicle skidded into a deep gorge during an operational movement.

Abdullah lauded the “swift rescue and evacuation efforts” carried out by the Army, police, and local authorities, noting that their rapid response was critical in providing immediate medical assistance to the survivors.
