J&K Border Belt Modernization: Minister Javid Dar Inaugurates ₹2.5 Crore Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital in R.S. Pura

JAMMU, MARCH 28, 2026: In a major boost to the rural economy and livestock health along the border belt, the Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, today inaugurated a state-of-the-art Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital in Ranbir Singh Pura (R.S. Pura).

Built at a cost of approximately ₹2.5 crore, the new facility is designed to cater to nearly 80,000 livestock across R.S. Pura, Suchetgarh, and neighboring areas. Attended by MLA Suchetgarh, Professor Gharu Ram Bhagat, and senior directors from the Animal Husbandry and Agriculture departments, the inauguration marks a pivotal step in providing high-quality, timely medical care for both bovine animals and pets, ensuring better disease management and productivity for local farmers.

During the ceremony, Minister Dar emphasized that the hospital is a vital asset for the farming community and directed officials to ensure all services are fully operational to provide “care at the doorstep.” He highlighted the government’s broader vision for the sector, noting that 29 schemes are currently being implemented under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) to transform J&K’s primary industries.

Urging the youth to embrace agriculture as a sustainable career and become “job creators,” the Minister underscored the availability of subsidized financial assistance for agri-enterprises and the growing potential of diverse fruit crops in the Jammu division.

By integrating research, field-level data collection, and modernized infrastructure, the administration aims to create a supportive ecosystem that significantly enhances farmers’ income and rural livelihoods.
