Jhelum Water Level Rises, Uri SDM Issues Flood Advisory

Uri 06 September :- In response to a significant rise in the water level of the Jhelum River, the Office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate in Uri, Baramulla, has issued a public advisory urging residents to exercise extreme caution.

According to reports from the District Administration and NHPC-I, the river is currently discharging water at a rate of approximately 630 Cumecs, with levels anticipated to increase further in the coming hours, potentially impacting low-lying areas.

The advisory strictly prohibits any movement near the Jhelum River and other water bodies. Residents in vulnerable zones have been advised to remain on high alert, take all necessary precautionary measures, stay indoors, and closely follow official warnings and updates.

For any emergencies, the public is instructed to immediately dial the emergency number 112. Furthermore, all concerned departments have been directed to remain on maximum alert and ensure full preparedness to handle any emergent situations.
