Javid Ahmad Dar Joins PM-KISAN 22nd Installment Release; SKUAST-Jammu Hosts UT-Level Event

JAMMU, MARCH 13, 2026 — Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, participated in a high-profile virtual event today from the Civil Secretariat to mark the nationwide release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed a staggering ₹18,640 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore farmers across India via a single-click Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Minister Dar highlighted the scheme’s transformative impact on the rural economy, noting that the consistent financial support of ₹6,000 per year—provided in three equal installments—is essential for helping farmers manage input costs and sustain agricultural productivity.

Simultaneously, the Union Territory-level celebration, “PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas,” was hosted by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-Jammu) at its Krishi Vigyan Kendra, R.S. Pura Campus. The event saw the attendance of prominent figures including MLA Suchetgarh Gharu Ram Bhagat, SKUAST-J Vice Chancellor Professor B.N. Tripathi, and several departmental directors.

MLA Bhagat commended the central government’s dedication to farmer welfare and urged the local farming community to leverage modern technologies and government subsidies to boost crop yields.

The day concluded with a commitment from officials to continue bridging the gap between scientific research and field application to ensure long-term agricultural prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
