Jammu Water Bill Deadline: JMC Launches Citywide Awareness Drive as ₹30 Crore Dues Remain Unpaid
JAMMU, MARCH 19, 2026 — With the financial year-end approaching, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav has issued a high-priority directive for residents to clear all outstanding water bill dues before the March 31 deadline.
To facilitate this, the Jal Shakti Department (Divisions 1 and 2) has launched a massive awareness and collection campaign across the city, establishing 12 dedicated facilitation camps to streamline the payment process.
These camps, strategically located in areas such as Roopnagar, Janipur, Trikuta Nagar, and Channi Himmat, offer on-the-spot bill settlement and guidance to consumers.
The initiative is a critical move to recover nearly ₹30 crore in pending arrears, which officials state is essential for the department’s ability to maintain and upgrade the city’s water infrastructure.During the drive, officials emphasized that timely payment is not just a legal requirement but a civic responsibility necessary for sustaining essential services.
Executive Engineer Tajinder Pal Singh (Division 1) has issued a stern warning to defaulters, noting that the department may initiate disconnection of water supply and other strict legal actions against those who fail to settle their accounts by the end of the month.
Residents are strongly urged to visit their nearest camp—located at spots like Sainik Colony, Greater Kailash, and Dhonthli—to resolve queries and clear their dues promptly to avoid last-minute rush or service interruptions.
