Jammu Traffic Police Issues Safety Advisory for Holi: Strict Action Against Stunt Biking and Drunk Driving

JAMMU, March 03, 2026 — In preparation for the upcoming Holi festival, the Traffic Police Jammu has issued a comprehensive safety advisory to ensure public order and smooth vehicular movement.

Authorities have strongly advised the general public to refrain from wrong or roadside parking, noting that such practices lead to unnecessary traffic congestion and “jamming” during the celebrations.

Motorists are further warned that strict legal action will be taken against those found engaging in hazardous behaviors, including drunken driving, over-speeding, reckless driving, and riding without crash helmets.

A major focus of the enforcement drive will be the prevention of stunt biking, which officials highlighted as a significant danger to both the riders and the general public. In addition to monitoring individual motorists, the Traffic Authorities have directed all Holi event organizers within Jammu City to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations to facilitate a safe and hassle-free festive environment.

To assist the public, the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Jammu has released emergency contact numbers (0191-2459048, 9419147732) for anyone requiring traffic-related assistance or reporting exigencies during the festival.
