JAMMU, DECEMBER 29: In preparation for the upcoming New Year 2026 celebrations, the Traffic City Jammu office has released a detailed advisory to manage the significant influx of commuters and pedestrians expected on the night of December 31, 2025.
With large festivities planned at high-traffic venues such as Wave Mall, Asia Hotel, Jammu Club, Amar Singh Club, and Gole Market, authorities are strictly advising the public to utilize only designated or nearby parking areas.
The advisory warns that parking on roadsides or in unauthorized zones will be strictly prohibited to prevent traffic congestion and ensure that the general public is not inconvenienced during the holiday rush.To maintain order and safety, the Jammu Traffic Police has announced a zero-tolerance policy toward dangerous road behaviors, with a specific focus on curbing stunt biking, which poses a lethal threat to both riders and other road users.
Strict legal action will be initiated against violators caught drunken driving, overspeeding, or engaging in reckless and dangerous driving. Furthermore, in light of the prevailing foggy weather conditions in the region, commuters are urged to drive slowly, maintain appropriate visibility-based speeds, and avoid unnecessary overtaking to ensure personal and public safety.
