Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) Closed Due to Heavy Snowfall Near Navyug Tunnel
JAMMU, Jan 27, 2026 — Authorities have officially suspended all vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) following intense fresh snowfall in the vicinity of the NAVYUG Tunnel.
The blockage has effectively cut off transit between Jammu and Srinagar in both directions, compounded by the existing closures of Mughal Road, SSG Road, and Sinthan Road due to adverse weather conditions.
Commuters are strongly advised to cancel any planned travel on these routes until the roads are cleared and officially declared safe by the Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
To prevent the spread of misinformation, the public is urged to verify real-time updates through the official J&K Traffic Police social media handles or by contacting the dedicated helplines in Jammu (0191-2459048), Srinagar (0194-2450022), or Ramban (9419993745).
