Jammu Spiritual Tourism Boost: Manoj Sinha Joins Raghunath Temple Aarti and Calls for Riverbank Rituals
JAMMU, March 18, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the soul-stirring Shri Raghunath Ji’s Jammu Aarti today, an event organized by the ‘Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti Sanstha’ within the hallowed precincts of the iconic Raghunath Temple.
Addressing a gathering of devotees and prominent citizens, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted that the Aarti, performed with deep devotion by both men and women, serves as a powerful embodiment of India’s timeless reverence for Nari Shakti and Ardhanarishvar.
He described the ritual as a “discipline of the soul” and a conscious effort to inspire society to remain grateful to the source of existence. Sinha emphasized that in a rapidly changing world, such meditative moments allow every section of society to rediscover their “priceless inner wealth” and embark on a spiritual journey.During the ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor issued a passionate call to the people of the Jammu Division to organize daily or weekly evening Aartis in towns and villages situated along the region’s riverbanks.
He noted that the light from these lamps would not only awaken society to its profound cultural roots but also bridge the gap between the younger generation and the timeless verses of holy scriptures. Sinha urged the youth to realize that their true inheritance is not material wealth or position, but a rich spiritual legacy.
He observed that these collective gatherings are essential for self-realization and for ensuring that the spiritual values of the land are passed down effectively to future leaders.Beyond the spiritual impact, the Lieutenant Governor outlined a strategic vision to project Jammu, famously known as the City of Temples, as a premier global center for spiritual tourism.
By institutionalizing the Jammu Aarti, the administration aims to offer devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi and Baba Amarnath a more immersive experience of the region’s spiritual radiance.
This initiative is expected to provide significant momentum to the local economy by attracting travelers from across India and abroad. The event, attended by Ritu Singh, Chairperson of the Sanstha, and other dignitaries, concluded with a shared commitment to preserving the holy land’s heritage while driving holistic regional development.
