Jammu Rural Police Apprehend Six for Illegal Gambling in Muthi-Bantalab; Cash Seized
JAMMU, April 02, 2026:-In a continued crackdown on illegal activities and public nuisances, the Jammu (Rural) Police successfully apprehended six individuals caught gambling in a public space within the Muthi/Bantalab area.
Acting on precise intelligence, a specialized police team conducted a coordinated raid that caught the group red-handed while using playing cards for high-stakes betting.
During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered and seized ₹15,500 in stake money along with a deck of cards as evidence.Following the arrests, all six accused were formally booked under Section 13 of the Gambling Act, and a formal investigation has been launched to further examine the case.
This successful raid is part of a broader initiative by the Rural Police to sanitize the district of unlawful practices that disturb public order.
