JAMMU January 21, 2026 :- The Chief Engineer (Distribution) of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has issued a formal notification regarding scheduled power outages across several key areas of Jammu to facilitate essential maintenance and system upgrades. Residents and business establishments are advised to plan accordingly as electricity supply will be temporarily suspended on specific dates throughout late January.
The first phase of the shutdown will impact the 33KV MES line on January 22, with the outage expected to last from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.A second round of maintenance is scheduled for January 25, affecting vital residential and commercial zones including Rehari, Karan Nagar, Amphalla, and Lok Bhawan.
Power in these adjoining areas will also be disconnected between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Furthermore, a significant shutdown is planned for January 29 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, covering a vast industrial and residential belt including Transport Nagar, Narwal, Railway Colony, parts of Channi Himmat, Malik Market, Upper Chowadi, Matto Colony, Bathindi, Sunjwan, and Boria.
In the final phase of the announced schedule, rural and suburban pockets including Burnal, Jourian, Muthi Maira, Palwan Camp, and Rakh Muthi will experience power interruptions on both January 29 and January 31. These outages will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. JPDCL has expressed that these shutdowns are necessary for the long-term reliability of the grid and has urged consumers to cooperate with the department during the execution of these critical technical works.
