Jammu Power Shutdown Alert: JPDCL Announces Scheduled Outages Across Multiple Districts for March 28-30
Jammu March 27, 2026 — The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has issued a comprehensive power shutdown schedule affecting several key areas across Jammu, Samba, Kathua, and Rajouri districts starting tomorrow.
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), essential maintenance and repair works will lead to an eight-hour disruption in Akhnoor, Kalakot, Jwala, and surrounding localities on March 28 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Similarly, residents in Ramnagar, Chowki, Majouri, and Basantgarh should prepare for a blackout on the same day between 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Industrial and residential sectors in Jakh, Jogpur, Sarore, and Patli Industry will also face a power cut on March 28, scheduled from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Further extending the maintenance drive, the JPDCL has announced a two-day shutdown for Lamberi, Rajal, Bagnoti, Nowshera Town, Nonial, Chowki-Handan, Qila Darhal, and Laroka on both March 28 and 29, with power remaining affected from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Additionally, the Superintending Engineer (Distribution), JPDCL O&M Circle Kathua, has notified that a three-day maintenance window will impact Samba-I, PHE City, and adjoining areas.
In these locations, the power supply will be restricted on March 28, 29, and 30 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The department has requested consumers to cooperate during these scheduled outages, which are necessary for system upgrades and ensuring long-term grid stability.
