Jammu Police Seize 15 Grams of Heroin and Arrest Two Smugglers in R.S. Pura
JAMMU, February 1, 2026 — In a successful operation against the rising tide of substance abuse, the Jammu Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 15 grams of a heroin-like substance in the R.S. Pura region. The breakthrough occurred on January 31, when a police team led by PSI Naresh Kumar, under the supervision of Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, established a mobile checkpoint (naka) at Badyal Qazian near the Sunderpur Grid Station.
During the routine patrol, officers intercepted a grey Activa scooter and discovered the narcotics along with an electronic weighing machine, a clear indicator of distribution activity.The apprehended individuals have been identified as Shubham Singh (alias Kinu) and Rohit Singh (alias Laddu), both residents of the Makhdoom area in Suchetgarh Tehsil.
Following the recovery, the scooter was seized and the suspects were taken into custody. An official case, FIR No. 23/2026, has been registered at the R.S. Pura Police Station under Sections 8, 21, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act.
This operation reinforces the Jammu Police’s firm resolve to eradicate the drug menace and serves as a call for continued public cooperation in identifying and reporting illicit activities within the community.
