JAMMU, March 9, 2026 — A comprehensive two-day training programme focused on “Intelligence Generation” was inaugurated today at the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) in Jammu, designed to sharpen the analytical and information-gathering skills of personnel across the Jammu Zone.
Organized for officers and officials from various districts, the session was opened by Shamsheer Hussain, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu, who emphasized that robust field-level intelligence is essential for tackling modern security threats.
The curriculum features eight specialized sessions led by experts from premier agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Military Intelligence (MI), RAW, BSF (G Branch), and CID. These sessions cover critical areas such as intelligence tradecraft, source development, and the integration of technical and digital tools in modern policing to support investigations and operational decision-making.
As part of a broader capacity-building initiative, the training aims to enhance inter-agency coordination and provide personnel with advanced techniques for threat evaluation and counter-terrorism operations.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, interacted with the participants during the afternoon session, underscoring the vital role of high-quality intelligence in the successful detection and prevention of both criminal and terror-related activities.
By familiarizing trainees with sophisticated analytical methods and information-handling protocols, the Jammu Police seeks to ensure its force remains professionally equipped to maintain peace and security across the region.
