Jammu Police Launches ‘KIRAYEDAR’ Web Portal for Seamless Online Tenant Verification

JAMMU, DECEMBER 20, 2025: In a major leap toward digital policing and enhanced internal security, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh officially launched “KIRAYEDAR,” a specialized web portal designed for the hassle-free online verification of tenants. Acknowledging that Jammu, as the winter capital, experiences a massive influx of people—including government employees during secretariat shifting and laborers for mega infrastructure projects—the Jammu Police identified a critical security gap where anti-national elements (ANEs) could exploit rented accommodations. While tenant verification remains mandatory by law, traditional physical reporting was often hindered by landlords being elderly, living out of station, or hesitant to visit police stations.

To bridge this gap, the KIRAYEDAR portal was developed through a collaborative effort between three students from IIT Jammu and a local youth from Kathua, under the guidance of SDPO City West Jammu, providing a user-friendly and accessible platform to secure the city. The portal, accessible via tenant.jkpverify.in, streamlines a process that previously led to the registration of 12 FIRs against defaulting landlords despite police conducting over ten thousand manual verifications. Landlords can now complete the entire process from any location by simply verifying their mobile number via OTP and uploading the tenant’s Aadhaar details, photographs, and family information. Upon submission, the user receives an instant SMS confirmation with an application ID, eliminating the need for a physical visit to the police station.

By digitizing this essential security measure, the Jammu Police aims to significantly increase compliance, dismantle potential hideouts for anti-social elements, and uphold its commitment to maintaining a safe and prosperous environment for all citizens.
