Jammu Police Bust Major Drug Syndicate: Heroin and ₹21 Lakh Cash Recovered in Bahu Fort Raid

JAMMU, Feb 4, 2026 — In a major blow to the narcotics trade, the Jammu Police South Zone has dismantled a significant drug network, seizing a commercial quantity of heroin and ₹21 lakh in cash identified as proceeds of crime.

The successful operation, executed by the Bahu Fort Police Station under the direct supervision of SSP Jammu and SP South, was initiated following a viral social media video showing youth injecting drugs in the Rajeev Nagar area.

Swift investigative work led to the arrest of Pal Singh, a resident of Rajeev Nagar, from whose possession 265 grams of heroin was recovered.

Further probe into the financial trail revealed that the accused had used drug money to fund a property deal, leading police to recover ₹21 lakh in cash from a local businessman, Netar Sodhi, which had been paid as an advance for a shop purchase valued at ₹41 lakh.

As the investigation continues to trace backward and forward linkages, authorities have reaffirmed their zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and are working to identify all associates involved in this illicit financial trail.
