Jammu Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers in Bishnah; Heroin and Contraband Seized
BISHNAH, JAMMU JANUARY 24, 2026 – As part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics, Jammu Police successfully apprehended two drug peddlers within the jurisdiction of the Bishnah Police Station.
The operation, conducted as part of the investigation into FIR No. 15/2026 under the NDPS Act, saw a specialized team led by Inspector Rakesh Jamwal intercept an Innova vehicle (PBDT-8788) following specific intelligence inputs. Upon searching the occupants, authorities recovered approximately 15 grams of heroin, commonly known as “Chitta,” alongside 20 Pologesic capsules.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Sunil Kumar and Ajay Kumar, both residents of Deoli, Bishnah. In accordance with legal protocols, the police seized the recovered contraband and the vehicle used in the crime.
Both individuals are currently in custody as investigators work to dismantle their broader supply chain and identify further links within the narcotics network. Jammu Police have reaffirmed their commitment to creating a drug-free society and continue to urge the public to share credible information regarding illegal trafficking to help maintain regional security.
